<p>Dog training means nothing but to train your dog to be obedient. There are different types of obedience training for dogs. It begins with the basic training which can go to an advanced level where they are trained for competitions. There will be 2 people who are involved in training your dog. They are the trainer and the handler. Let us begin with a crash course for your pets training program. A dog trainer who knew much about the puppy training provided the following information.
Start with basic commands and see whether your dog responds. The dog will slowly respond to the trainers commands after constant repetition. Constant repetition and love are the main rules to train your pet. The basic commands are:
Sit: where the dog will sit down when he is given the command. Down & dash; where the dog will lie down with both front and back feet on the ground.Heel; where the dog’s head or shoulder is parallel to the trainers leg.Come: where the dog will come once his name is taken.Stay: where the dog will stay standstill without moving from the place where the command is given by the trainer. The short course which is mentioned above will take anything around 6 and 10 weeks depending upon the time each dog takes to learn. The best way to train them is by using a leash to teach them the above commands.
Once your dog has learned the basic commands of dog obedience training, you can decide to go for the next level of the training program which is the advanced dog obedience training program. Let us find out some of the advance training commands.
Leave it: Where the dog will not touch the item when this command is given. Care must be taken to give this command before your dog picks the item.Stop: How far the dog is from the trainer does not matter when this command is given. He has to stop immediately what he is doing. Speak: when this command is being taught, the dog will begin barking.Roll over: where the dog will immediately lie down roll over its back and than stand up back on his feet.Fetch: When this command is given, the trainer or handler will throw an object which usually is a ball and the dog will have to retrieve it and bring it back to the trainer.
There should be no hurry. Even if it takes a bit of extra time, it will not cause any problem as long as they learn. And always remember to use a leash when you take your dog out. You can leave him free at home. Proper care, love and affection are all what your pet requires to learn at a faster pace. Try not to beat your pet when he is disobedient, instead shout at the top of your voice that will make him understand that his owner is upset with his behavior.
