Dog Joint Pain – Common Types Of Joint Problems In Dogs

Dogs can suffer from different kinds of musculoskeletal disorders. The most common form of musculoskeletal disorder in dogs is canine arthritis, which literally means inflammation of the joint. Pets such as dogs are more prone to arthritis than in cats or horses and can usually take one of the several forms:

Osteoarthritis – A slow, progressive disintegration of cartilage in your pets joints is called osteoarthritis and is a chronic degenerative joint disease. When the cartilage of a joint is worn away the adjoining bones begin to rub against one another causing muscle discomfort and joint pain.

Hip Dysplasia – A malformation of the hip sockets is called hip dysplasia. The irregular malformation of the “ball and socket” allows excessive movement in the joint causing joint pain and inflammation leading to tissue deterioration and occasional calcium deposits. Canine hip dysplasia is most common among larger breeds of dogs.

Elbow Dysplasia – Another form of dysplasia is found in the elbows usually of large breed dogs. This disorder is typically hereditary in nature. In elbow dysplasia the bones become misshapen causing chipping with use resulting in discomfort and pain. A dog suffering from this condition will display lameness in the affected leg.

Knee Dysplasia – This malformation of the joints can also be found in the knees. Knee dysplasia also has the same “bone chips” which cause pain and lameness as it progresses.

Stifle Knee – A common problem with the stifle joint (knee) involves torn ligaments which creates instability of the joint. Joint dislocation is a common complication of the stifle knee. The stifle joint is placed under tremendous use and strain making inflammation at this location common. Poor or irresponsible breeding practices are the greatest reason for these issues.

Osteochondrosis
– Inflammation of the cartilage or osteochondrosis is directly linked to poor breeding. Inadequate nutrition can also exacerbate this condition. The symptoms of osteochondrosis include pain and inflammation, and is coupled with cartilage disintegration.

Kneecap Dislocation – When the kneecap repeatedly moves and pull out of it’s proper joint position it is known as kneecap dislocation and is associated with leg bones that are poorly formed. Again, this is a condition resulting from poor breeding or genetic inheritance.

Most of these conditions can be prevented if your dog is properly fed with the right diets and supplements such as avoiding commerical foods and feeding a natural, wholesome diet is an important part of a preventive program.

However, if your dog already has an established musculoskeletal disorder condition, supplementing your pet with a homeopathic cure such as Arthro-Ionx can also be very helpful, primarily where the joints are involved. Arthro-Ionx is proven 100% safe and effective can help your pet relieve canine arthritis and other joint pain quickly and supports healthy joints from the inside out – restoring your dog’s mobility and flexibility! Results will be apparent with 3 weeks, often within 1 month.

Attackers use common sense when attacking or they end up in the news and on the internet as jokes. Survivors of needless attacks often land on the news as subjects of sympathy when they didn’t use any common sense to avoid the attack.

Although no one can say or do anything to deserve an attack, we often put ourselves in vulnerable situations simply by ignoring the two natural resources we have to prevent such things: common sense and gut feelings. The fault of an attack always lies with the attacker as we all have control over just two things: what we think and what we do. However, approximately 95% of verbal, mental, emotional and physical attacks are easily preventable.

We’ve all heard that walking down an alley at night is dangerous yet people have been attacked there while taking a shortcut, walking home from a party. Where does personal safety enter into that decision? It doesn’t.

We hear that we should stay away from people we have a bad gut feeling about yet when dating, for example, we go out with people, regardless of bad gut feelings, just to have someone to be with. I did it and I was raped. Did I deserve it? No. Could I have prevented it? Absolutely, just by using a tiny bit of common sense that told me there were red flags.

A friend of mine got into a car with someone at an event, to avoid being rude, even though she had a feeling the woman was not a good driver based on things the woman said. The driver turned into oncoming traffic and caused an accident that could easily have killed all four people in her car.

Personal safety requires us to use common sense in our daily lives just as we would to do business or decide which healthy food to eat. Common sense tells us to listen to our gut feelings. It will always tell us the truth, whether we believe it or not.

Not very many weeks ago, I came home with a dog, one that someone had abandoned. I love animals and am a sucker for one that has been thrown away. My wife, not the dog lover that I am, was able to change my way of thinking when the dog made a mess in her house!

He did not know the rules of the house, but I did. Doggie was going to live in the great outdoors whether he land I liked it or not.

You know I could not let the poor dog hang around the neighborhood. He had to have his own place, so he would know where home is.

My first job was to find some dog kennel plans so I could build doggie a home of his own. I went online to take a look. Wow! So many options it was difficult to narrow down to one I thought would fit my talents and doggie’s needs. Finally, I chose a house with dog run, just in case doggie needed to exercise.

After I had chosen my plan, I looked over the list of materials needed to make doggie a place that would be comfortable in all kinds of weather.

Pressure treated wood would hold up really well. But I knew doggie is a chewer and the chemicals used to pressure treat the wood would be bad for him. I could, however, use the pressure treated wood in portions of the building doggie could not reach, such as the frame.

On the rest of the building, I would use either a composite building material or a type of wood, like cedar, that holds up in all kinds of weather and is not prone to rotting.

Let me recommend that you choose a set of plans that will give your pet comfort the year round. During winter months or the rainy season, he will need a place where he can go to get out of the rain or snow. During the winter months, you will want to make him a bed out of straw or old blankets.

And, during the summer months, he will need some shade and lots of breezes. You will want your kennel to provide some shade and cross ventilation.

Many pets, like mine, are left alone for long periods of time while the family is at work or school. I would recommend that you choose a set of plans that will give your pet the things he needs, including space to move about.

The dog kennel with dog run was a good choice for the abandoned dog I brought home to be our new pet. The dog run gives doggie freedom to run around a little when he gets bored in the house or the shade.

Now that my dog kennel with dog run is complete, I do not worry that doggie will be sent away, nor get into trouble with the neighbors.

I found easy-to-follow plans for my dog kennel as well as thousands of plans for other kinds of sheds or out buildings. Go to http://www.shedplansandprojects.info today to find the perfect plan for the project you have in mind.
