WordPress Blogs for SEO!?
Can a simple free wordpress Blog like: flowersred.wordpress.com can be a good blog that other professional blogs want to link and earn good name and ranking is search engine or it is the must to buy a domain and have a website?
All i am thinking is running a free Blog and than if went smooth i will register a domain in the same name and launch a website till my i will also have a good network!

Brian answers:
Go ahead and invest the $10 and buy your own domain. Most registrars also provide reasonable hosting plans. For a quick and easy modification of your blog, do a Google search for “free wordpress themes”. There are thousands of free themes that are easy to modify.
I created www.Cockus.com in just a day using a free theme. And no, it’s not porn. It’s a political blog. You’d be surprised how many people misspell “Caucus” as “Cockus”.
The do a search for a WordPress plugin called “All In One SEO”. Makes optimization so much easier.
Good luck!

Lisa asks…
Is my WordPress Blog completely private?
I already know that it can’t be found via search engine because there was an option I checked for it to be that way. Can other people who use wordpress browse wordpress blogs? Is my blog revealed to people only if I give them my link, because that’s how I would like it to be.

Brian answers:
Yest, you can make it private.

Daniel asks…
How do I get my WordPress articles to pop up in peoples google searches?
When Someone googles something that relates to one of my wordpress blogs how can I get it to appear on the first page of their serach results?? Thanks!

Brian answers:
The first thing you’re going to want to do is make sure you’re running the right plugins on your wordpress blog. Ultimate SEO or All in One SEO will do the trick for you. I personally like Ultimate simply because it has more options.
Anyway, there is no way to guarantee that you’ll pop up on the first page of Google for any particular search result but you can take certain actions to move further up.
1. Link building – Trade links with other websites, submit to social bookmarking sites, post comments on other people’s sites, etc
2. Use SEO plugins to improve your on page SEO
3. Guest blog, write content that people will find either really helpful or off the wall and will feel the need to link to it.

WordPress blogs help??
I have a WordPress blog. When I made it I checked off (which they have it checked) “Have blog show in search engines like Google or Yahoo!” I wanted it to be private. Well, I Googled the title of my blog, and it was there. ?????

Brian answers:
Create a robots.txt file on your server and add the following to it this will stop googles bot from crawling your blog and eventually it will be de-indexed from google.
User-agent: Googlebot
Disallow: /
